Shingles

No, not shingles on a house...I have shingles. Damn. Started with a rash last Sunday and by Wednesday I was having so much pain I knew what it was, I was just hoping it wasn't. Went to Dr. Cohen here in town, and rats! I was right. He gave me a scrip for Valtrex, it how they treat herpes...shh....shingles is a herpes virus, just not THAT herpes virus, ok! It's supposed to lessen the symptoms and shorten the discomfort and promote healing, also a Rx for Vicodin for pain, which I have used sparingly, I need it at night. And a scrip for something to prevent the after effect of shingles, which is nerve pain. So...I am moving in a week and have shingles..oh happy day. And of course the breakout and blisters are around my underarm and upper back so wearing a bra is impossible. Good thing I have some comfy nighties and a summer robe. I am hoping these are almost gone by next weekend when we make our trek down south..I don't relish the thought of driving (me driving the car) with dogs and pain...but, I will buck up and be ok.

Well, it could be worse and lots of folks are worse off. I am just ticked that I got shingles..
