Well, I guess you could say we are settling in..we just had over 500 sq feet of cement slab poured in the back yard for our patio...took the crew a couple days...Looks awesome...we have inked a deal for an alumawood patio cover, they will be here starting Sept. 21st, after our cruise, and should take 3-4 days....which means by the end of the month we will have a covered patio. When it cools off a little more, in October, we will start figuring out sod, we are going to do bermuda grass since that is what seems to do best here in the desert...and then a garden wall along the back fence, which Carl and I can do....some citrus trees, a couple of crepe myrtles, some perennials, and the queen palms, and we will be styling. Pool to come possibly next year..

Nice...how exciting to have a plan and follow it! Our backyard got put on the back burner. I think it's too overwhelming for him and he won't hire it out. Bought a boat instead. Have fun on your cruise.
ReplyDeleteWe have to have a backyard...when we want to go on a boat we can head up to Shasta, or take a cruise!...lol...its actually kind of nice to just have this little place thats manageable for us, not costly and easy to keep up. Our way of simplifying. We are both tired of trying to keep up, think we have found our little nirvana down here..now it will cool off soon and we can enjoy being closer to friends and fam again.
ReplyDeletemiss you!
Wow you guys have been busy. It is looking great! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kellie, it has been a lot of hard work..once the patio cover is up and some sod in, it will look like a totally different yard and then we can start to relax..hoping to put a small pool in next year..
