Well gosh less than 2 weeks now to Christmas Day and we are just now starting our decorating. This is mainly due to the fact that we were gone from home for over 2 weeks and got a leeeetle bit behind..Carl got the tree up just a while ago, after a first try this morning..I tell you what happens when you have a heavy tree and a not sturdy enough stand. On the other hand will keep the gory details to myself. We ended up heading to Home Depot to get a sturdier stand..Now the tree is standing straight and tall, and the lights are on. So far this is the extent of our decorating. Tomorrow my job is to go through the boxes and perform a magic act turning Casa Boyack into the Griswold’s from the movie ‘Christmas Vacation’!
While we were on our vacation home from Illinois, we stopped at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Amarillo, Texas for our dinner..and of course I had to shop..We don’t have Cracker Barrel in California so I tend to go nuts when I get to one. They had such beautiful Christmas displays, and I bought a couple of new ornaments for our tree..
Pictures don’t do them justice, they are so sparkly and rich looking. I am thinking I will post pictures of some of my favorite decorations tomorrow as I unpack them. Especially my 1920’s nativity set that was my nana’s..be sure to come back and check!
