I have no pinks for today..I am in a very un pink mood, not feeling well with vertigo and fatigue..I can usually handle the fatigue, but add vertigo to it and it’s almost unbearable. Not to be a downer today but I wanted to post something..My hubs recently finished painting several rooms in the house and I would love to share my entry..It’s a color called Cranberry Crush by BEHR paint. I love it..I thought at first it would be too dark, but I was just reading a blog earlier about decorating how WE like it, not how we think the world would like it. So I like it. A LOT.
I think it really pops with the white door and trim..
I’ll do a post during the week with the rest of the painting and finished job pictures..
I’m linking up to sweet Beverly at How Sweet the Sound today, head on over there and check out my fellow pinkies.
PS I have to vent. Sorry. And would like your opinions on this. One of the bloggers that I follow loosely just posted that she now has 10,000 followers. REALLY. Is there a point to that? I guess if I had THAT many followers and had all sorts of sponsors who paid me I would announce that, too. I don’t know, it bothers me. I like to think that I have a relationship with my followers, don’t you? I follow them, too. How can you follow 10,000 bloggers, you can’t. I have posted comments from time to time on this gal’s blog (and I am sure she is very nice), but she has never once posted on mine. I guess that bothers me a bit.
Ok I vented, how about some opinions on this..A little rabble rousing for the weekend!
Have a good one…

I love that entryway! May I borrow Carl? LOL! I Know you have him busier than a bumble bee don't you? I am sorry you do not feel well. I think it is the weather. Vertigo is the worse. I know I have lived with it since 1983! Rest seems to help and my doc has some great Vestibular exercises you can do. Many patients think they help.
ReplyDeleteI agree on those followers. I have cherished the friendships I have made. I wish we could hold a mini blog weekend for eveyrone. wouldn't that be super fun??? I still need to post my Pink today. I hope you feel up to stopping by later on. Love to you friend. Anne
P.S. Am still trying to organized my pinks and the apron picks from the Fall! I am a mess!
Happy Pink Saturday! I am a first time visitor of your blog, glad I found you. Your entryway is lovely.
ReplyDeleteQuality of friends is worth more than quantity of followers!!!!

Red is my signature color ;) I also had a red entry in one of my homes...when we went to sell it one of the realtors made me paint over it because my family room was green and she said that it looked like Christmas when you walked in...I'm so over all that...whatever! Like you...I'm living for me and what makes me happy ;) Hope the vertigo gets better for you soon. My mom had a bad time of it and finally got over it by taking dimetap every day...this time of year when the pollen kicks in and allergies are high is the worst so that's when she has to start taking dimetap up to 3 times a day. It works by getting rid of all the "drainage" caused by the allergies. For some of us the drainage comes out as runny noses and sore throats, etc. But for my mom it went right to her ears and made her vertigo act up. Hope this helps ;) Oh yeah...the venting part (love it btw ;) I so hear you but I remember that I blog because I love it and...AND not for the popularity part of it. I had one of those google friend widgits on my sidebar for a while cause I thought it's what you were suppose to do. NOW I don't because I don't care what other's think. Also I don't blog to make money or friends so now I try not to get sucked in by all the marketing part of blogging. I was first turned on by blogging from the magazine Artful Blogging because of the stories that bloggers had to share and all the beautiful artwork and photos. So hang in there and try not to let what I call "high-school" mentality of blogging get the better of you ;)
ReplyDeleteFondly, Roberta
I say do what you love - no one else has to live with it but you. As for the vertigo - I had a terrible case of it several years ago, I ran into the walls and would fall on my face if I bent over. My doctor was so excited when I went to see her -she wished the interns were there to see it - I didn't know your eyes move back and forth when you are having the dizziness. Anyway, she had me lay back, slowly turn my head to the right, back to the center and then to the left. I had to do this several times a day. She said it was to get the little hairs in the fluid part of the ear straightened back up so they would all flow together. It worked for me after a while.
ReplyDeleteI felt really bad because I had a hard time getting bloggers to follow me even though I commented on their blogs often. Most do not even reply. Now I am past the hurt and I make sure I reply even just to say thanks for stopping by. As for the rest, with attitudes like that you could lose a lot of your followers. And I hate the sponsors on blogs, I don't understand the purpose of it for the blogger - except to make money - then you should probably have a website for that type of thing. Ok, enough venting for me. Have a HPS,
Brenda
I love the color, so if you like that is all that matters. Sorry you are not feeling well. I understand the venting, feel free to vent. Maybe it will make you feel better. I just starting blogging last month, so I think I would rather have less bloggers and talk to them and have a relationship with them; is that noth what this is about??? I'm just say'n
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday
Hugs and Warm Wishes, CindyLew
Happy Pink Saturday Barb.
ReplyDeleteHey I found another gal on Pink Saturday that lives in Corona. With me moving to Temecula soon, maybe you and I and her can meet up?
I hope your feeling better. I think of you often with your pain and can't imagine it.
God bless your weekend.
I guess we are all getting drenched in Southern California rain huh.
Take care, Viola
Your entryway looks FABULOUS! I LOVE THE COLOUR and it does make your door POP!
ReplyDeleteYour venting is valid! I think some people do blog to make money and I guess if they have a lot of followers, it makes sense for someone to advertise there. I don't answer all my comments (cause I don't know how) but I try to ALWAYS comment on the blogs I follow. Sometimes my mind is blank and I don't but most times I do try.
I hope you're feeling better soon! The combination of vertigo and fatigue is not good. Take care of yourself!
Sorry you're feeling puny and hope you get better soon. I try to follow all my followers but some became followers during a giveaway and though I appreciate them I know they weren't that into me. No problem but I hope I never get a 1000 because I spend long enough as it is on this thing...lol...Loved your paint color.
ReplyDeleteYour entryway looks perfect. I think it looks very cozy!
ReplyDelete10,000 followers? She must blog as a business. I guess some people blog for different reasons than we do.
Wow, thanks for your comments and for letting me vent..I am glad that gal has so many followers, it just kind of blew me away and I don't really know what the purpose of that would be in my life anyway..I love my followers and like to think I have somewhat of a relationship with most, and have made good friends with several! So thank you for your comments and thoughts..
ReplyDeleteI am feelng a bit better and apologizie for turning pink saturday into my personal vent:(
hugs to you all..
Its good for us to vent once in a while. Holding it all in and not venting can make us sick. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the new paint color, it looks wonderful especially against the white door.
I think it would take me 5 years to post once on 10,000 followers! Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents. LOL
Have a wonderful pink saturday!!!
Hugs, Ann
I read that same post with the blogger reaching 10,000 followers and felt a little uneasy myself. I wouldn't trade the friendships that I've made through blogging for anything. I thinks she's missing out!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you're feeling under the weather. Vertigo and fatigue together does not make for a good day. Hope both issues end soon!
I love your entry color by the way and agree, live with what you like and with what makes you happy!
You know me.........I love red and your entry way is just gorgeous. I love it. Anne made me laugh that she wanted to borrow Carl. Heehee. I needed the smile.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better sweet friend,
Linda
Girl.. I am up right now because I have the fatigue and vertigo....I can't lay down for my head spinning and I slept this evening because I'm so tired....I also have the fibromyalgia. Do you think they may have something to do with one another....back of my neck was hurting bad before this started.
ReplyDeleteThe lady with 10,000 followers must really be a positive person for so many to follower her....I think she should be proud. Trish
I love the cranberry...my kitchen is a dark red and I love it too.
ReplyDeleteHummm!!! Cranberry Crush!!!!!!!!! I love it! A very inviting foyer! Feel better today! Okay???!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it....
ReplyDeleteand well....that is alot of followers....ten thousand? Hummmmm
First of all, let me say, I'm so sorry you haven't been feeling well. Hope it passes soon.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh! I love your entryway. It looks so good and was a great post for Pink Saturday.
I understand the "vent" and feel the same. Friends like you are one of the reasons I blog...not for the amount of followers I have.
Praying you feel better soon, Barb.
Love the entry way!!!! It is so beautiful. Really makes the door look so lovely. I do hope you are feeling better today! Vertigo is no fun. I get dizzy from my new pain meds. I will be getting them changed as it is too difficult to work around the dizziness. As for the 10,000 followers? I would rather have a few friends from blogging than 10,000 followers. I am so glad I met you on the internet. You really have and continue to help me especially when I lost Momma this past year. 10,000 followers wouldn't have helped me but a friend certainly did!
ReplyDeleteIsn't your beautiful cranberry just a dark shade of pink? :) I love the color and it looks just perfect for that spot. My mom has been suffering from vertigo but she has improved now. Hope you are improving also!
ReplyDeleteOh and I don't have a lot of pink in my home either. I like to wear pink but I don't really have it my house. (Except for Baby Bee's room and she tells me she is so over the pink!)
