Diapers, Cupcakes and Baby Grace!

We held a baby shower this past Saturday for my daughter in law Melainie!  She is due around May 30th and it was nice to be able to give her a party here in Southern California for our friends and family..It was not a huge turn out, but a lot of fun…Many thanks to my niece in law Jacqui and nephew Matt for allowing us to use their lovely home (it’s much bigger than mine), also to my sis Cindy and oldest son Dan’s girl Annette.  I could not have done it without them!

I tried my hand at making a diaper cake, using disposable diapers.  I thought it turned out kind of cute for a first time try and not being the most crafty soul on earth:

It was actually quite easy to make, and before the kids left for home on Sunday, we took it apart and now she has 90 size 2 diapers to use!  It’s been forever since I bought disposable diapers, and they are so fitted and much nicer than the ones we used when the boys were little.

Jacqui and Cindy made these adorable displays also using disposable diapers and baby clothes

Aren’t they adorable??  I was so amazed at their talent!

What a pretty table that was!

Here are a few random pictures of the festivities!  Thanks to Melainie and our son Scott for coming south to visit us and let us shower them with love!

Great reason to party. That baby girl will be here before you know it. I wondered what was keeping you busy these days.

  7. It looks like it turned out perfect! Great job on the diaper cake. I am sorry that we couldn't be there. I would have loved to make the trip. Looks like we are postponing our Cali trip again. We just can't figure out our schedule with work and everything else that is going on. We will keep you posted if we ever make it out that way though!
