Pathetic

I guess this picture says it all..

IMG_5297

Yes, that would be my car.  On a tow truck.  Sad.  Conked out last night and wouldn’t start again, so had to have it towed home..I think Carl would have preferred to torch it and give it a proper goodbye..It’s a 99 Olds Intrigue, bought new in November 1998.  Oh how I love my car..up until a couple years ago we didn’t put any money into it..then the transmission conked out.  We fixed it..It conked out again this past September but it was within the warranty timeline, so we towed it up to Newcastle to have it fixed.  Now this.  We won’t put much money in it..and according to our internet research last night, it could be a small thing, or could be terminal.  Just wanted to let you know, she is just a tired machine but has been a gem for many, many years.  Sad.

  1. So, so sorry! I wonder if it was the full moon! My hairdresser was at my house last night (yes, her salon is a mobile boutique), and her car conked out in my driveway!! She lives about 15 miles from my house so I was glad it died her rather than on the freeway.

Car troubles are the worst and I wish for you a very easy solution.

  2. awwww, I hope it can be an easy (and inexpensive) fix. I KNOW how one can get attached to a car!! :) Hopefully, it can be made good as new.

  3. We all have been there at one time or another. Hope you make the right decision on what to do because it's sure not safe to be broken down somewhere.

  4. Isn't it a weird feeling to see your car on a tow truck?
Does this mean a new car? ;)

  7. I do hope the car doesn't cost much to fix and is an easy one! I am attached to my car too so I would be so upset if it broke down. Thank goodness you were somewhere dangerous when it broke down!!! That would have been awful!!! I hope you have a better week than yesterday!

  11. Drat! Cars! We need another car and we are going Tuesday to look into one. Pray for us. These cars are so expensive. I hope your problem is very minor. Love and Hugs Anne

  12. What a good little car to last that long! I think it might be time for you to trade her in and get something more reliable. Still not sure when we will be coming. Our plans keep changing so we will let you know. We might just wait until Lainey has the babes so we can meet her. We will keep you posted. Can't wait to get out there though!
