It's Late

How's that for a title, well it is late, 12:30 a.m.  Not feeling very tired right now, kind of in knots..Does that make sense, probably not...Out of sorts..I guess that's what it is..

I've had all this stuff going around and around in my brain tonight..feeling a little weepy..just a little..like I said I feel a little out of sorts..It's been an emotionally hard week for me..I need to concentrate not on anger but forgiveness..wow, that is not always the easiest thing to do, especially when that forgiveness needs to be about an ongoing situation and a relationship that will never be OK again..I know I sound flaky..if I could spill my heart out in public, I would..But that's not my way.

As thankful as I am that we have been able to rent our neighbors furnished home until our new home in Reno is completed in January (hopefully), its still not easy..Most of our belongings and furnishings are in a storage unit not far from our new place, and except for a garage of miscellaneous items and out bedroom set and mattress, we are pretty much living out of a few boxes and suitcases..We did bring our pots and pans and silverware, four mugs, four glasses and a couple bowls and plates with us..and our own linens..We've been here since the first of September and have probably a couple months to go..The holidays are coming, my holiday boxes are in storage..so I will miss having some festive décor..anyway, like I said my mind is wandering and and I am rambling!

45 days.  The builder will give us a 45 day notice until we can close escrow and move in.  I would be happy to have that 45 day notice yesterday..We have a lot to do once we get the word..our mortage company will need to finish up our loan, we'll need to pack up the few items we have here, and it's probably more than I think.  Boxes everywhere!  Arrange for a moving truck.  And pray for good weather.  January.  Reno. Snow..hmmm...this move will be different, the last few moves have been in blasted hot weather, at least this one will be cooler..can anyone say blizzard??  To be continued...

  1. I've been catching up with your posts. Goodness, what lovely aprons you've made. Just beautiful. My daughter in law and I are going to buy new sewing machines after the holidays and get back into sewing.

I'm confused. Your profile says you live in California, but you say you are moving up north to Reno. Isn't Reno down south? Maybe my brains are still on vacation. They go without me every now and then.

I live up north. Just south of Boston, MA. We had more than 110 inches of snow last winter. (most all of it fell in February) Want us to send you some this winter if we get a lot?

My little doggie, Pogo, is itching something so I've given him a dose of itch medicine. Now he is doing his "yuk, yuk, snort, snort, yuk, yuk" thingy. He knows how to make me feel guilty!!

Tonight I'm going to finish off the afghan I'm working on. Only two more rows to go. Woo Hoo! Then I want to finish up the baby blanket I'm making. Yeesh, lots to do and not a lot of time left to finish it all. It's time to get the wrapping (Christmas gifts) done, so that I can mail off my boxes on time.

I'm off now. You have a super evening, hugs, Edna B.

  2. I am glad to see you here. You know, everything will work out for you and Carl. Life has a way of annoying us and than things work out. Pray hard and keep your chin up as it will all be wonderful once you move. Keep in touch and you can still use my phamilybusiness1 e mail too. I am technically challenged and can not clean up all these old e mails quickly enough. Then when I tried to import my contacts to the new e mail it all went South. Now I am having trouble signing on to the new email. I am just spent over Face Book. I am trying not to go over there so much.
I hope you get back into your sewing. You do such lovely work. How I missed these last two posts I am not sure. Anyway here I am catching up with you. Take care and have a wonderful week. Hugs, Anne

  3. Hi Barb. Welcome to "the Movers Club". It an unorganized sympathy and help group. Records are not kept, most movers don't realize it there is a club like this and that they are already a member. Blues come, things get lost, broken or stolen, there's a million boxes in the garage, the pets stop eating and forget their bathroom etiquette and training, and on and on.
Today is a lazy rainy day for me. It has rained hard, a garbage container by the curb blew over, and the pool lady made a showing to get paid even if she only emptied two filters. We moved from north of Houston (Montgomery) to the west of Houston (Katy), 65 crow flying miles or 72 via Houston freeways and tollways. Our youngest daughter, six-year-old granddaughter, and the SIL. You visited my Thursday "Z" post with my telling the Veterans Day observance at GD's school.
Thank you for your nice comment there.
I would invite you to be a charter member of Jenny's new meme. It will open Wednesday but may officially be dated Thursday. Anne should also be there to become a charter member. I had also been a member of her Flash Story Writing club but left before it folded.
