Happy Hump Day my friends.. Just sitting here wishing I had some ambition to get to some sewing or housework or laundry, or SOMETHING! But I don't so I will blog for a bit.
This past weekend we traveled the two hour drive to our son's home near Sacramento. No sooner had we walked into the house did my husband Carl take a tumble, tripped over a high threshold. Took a bit but I finally got him back up on his feet. Our first concern was he had injured his newly replaced (June) knee, as he had landed on it. His wrist, elbow and shoulder also hurt. There was no swelling so our son started giving him Tylenol and ice. We had tickets for that evening to see the 80's band Huey Lewis and the News, but he wasn't really up to going to my daughter in love Melainie went with me. It was so warm that evening, close to 100 degrees, so the handheld fans they gave us were welcome! As the sun dropped, it cooled off some, and it was a great show! We will definitely go see them again!
The rest of the weekend was laid back, hanging with grandkids. I didn't take very many pictures on this trip, and none of Jackson. He is camera shy right now!
Our girly girl Gracie is always happy to pose!
They both start school tomorrow, Grace will be in First Grade, and Jack in Kindergarten, my how they are growing up, too fast for this Mimi and Poppy! Can't wait to see first day pictures tomorrow.
We drove home on Sunday morning and went to our local Urgent Care as Carl's elbow was especially hurting. He had no swelling, so I figured it was a sprain. They took x-rays at urgent care of his knee, wrist, forearm and elbow. The knee is fine, still perfectly aligned from the surgery, just bruised, the wrist and forearm are ok, but they said the elbow had a radial fracture. They don't do casting type stuff at urgent care so early Monday morning we went to the ROC, Reno's urgent care for orthopedic injuries. The Dr. there confirmed through the x-ray that the elbow was indeed fractured.. No casts for elbows, as he needs to keep moving and exercising it, just a sling. He's doing ok but its still quite sore. He returns to see an ortho doc in 3 weeks.
All I can say is I will be so happy to kick 2017 to the curb! He started the new year recovering from bilateral pulmonary embolism in his lungs, plus a clot in the leg. Then his knee replacement surgery in June, now this. Ay yi yi. . The recovery from the blood clots has been slow and it took a lot out of him, his strength and mentally wearing, too. This guy needs a break, and not a break from a bone! We appreciate so much everyone's prayers these past few months.
Looking forward to fall, cooler temps and beautiful colors in our area. We love living here, and get all 4 seasons.
Thank you for stopping by and I love your comments!

Sorry that Carl got hurt, but thankful it wasn't worse or his new knee. Isn't first day of school with the grands fun. Such anticipation and new everything. How sweet that Melanie went to the concert with you. I would have loved it too. I'm. Afraid the walking wouldn't work for me anymore. Thanks for sharing on your blog. I can't blog again until we get a new computer. Ugh! It's always something.
