We have been gone from home for 18 days now, fly home from Boston tomorrow evening so by midnight, we hope, we will be HOME. 19 days is probably just too long for both of us to be gone. We are so grateful to my brother and parents for helping out with the dogs, it’s the only way we can relax when away knowing THEY are taking good care of them! It will be a good, long while before we are gone like this again. I am actually anxious to get home, get in a routine again, get our butts to Weight Watchers or another plan, and continue emptying boxes and all… this break from it all was probably just what we needed.
We docked here in Boston on Friday morning, and sharing a hotel/apartment with our friends Rob and Susan, who live in southwestern Michigan. We met them on a similar cruise in 1996. I love Boston, we were here four years ago and I still love it. It’s a vibrant city, lots of great food, great people and so much beauty and I especially love all the history here. Wish we could spend more time, but will return once again to explore.
Here is our hotel, called the Hotel 140
We are in a one bedroom apartment..the building is the YWCA building, built in 1929…Lots of Charm!
yes, two beds in the one bedroom..good thing we like each other!
Carl and I took a LONG walk yesterday morning, probably about 3 miles or so..saw some beautiful neighborhoods…enjoy!
A young man named Eric and his 1 year old doxie Oscar! I was so happy to get to pet a little doxie..I guess I am really needing to be home! Eric was very gracious!
Later in the afternoon we got in the car and headed south to see our friends Jan and Dennis, who were such gracious hosts to us.. We went to dinner at their Club, it was wonderful. A good time had by all!

Thanks for stopping by..we will start packing up tonight, and just do some very local walking in the morning as we need to head over to the airport by around 2 or a little earlier to return the rental car and get through TSA and to the gate..
Will post again in a few days after I get home and settled a bit…later!

Have a safe trip home! Looks like you have lots of fun! Take care! Anne
