Special thanks to our Beverly for hosting Pink Saturday..Please stop by to visit her at How Sweet the Sound..we are also asked to share a link to a blogger new to ourselves this week, so I would like to introduce to you Red Gingham. Sarah lives in Auckland, New Zealand and I first saw her blog while participating in an apron swap! Be sure to visit Sarah, too!
I am going to indulge myself a bit today since tomorrow is Mother’s Day. I am so blessed to still have my mom alive and living nearby. I greatly admire my Mom, through good times and not so good times, she has been a steadying influence in our lives.
Mom was born in a little town in Washington State in 1927, next to the youngest of 6. Her dad worked for the County and her mom was a homemaker..I never met my grandma Faye as she passed away when Mom was still a teenager, and my Papa Jack passed away when I was about 6.
Mom has been a wonderful mom and grandma, always willing to drop everything, even call off work, if we needed help with anything. Also a good listening ear and a lot of fun!
Here are a few pictures of my mom Rosemary, hence the connection to Pink Saturday as her name contains a ROSE.
