Bugs!

Greetings!  I have been visiting my sis and hubs since the 21st and will be here until the 12th..three weeks..It didn’t sound so long when I made my flight reservations, lol..Hopefully they aren’t too tired of me, and I know I am fine even though I am a bit homesick, missing my hubs and dogs, and my folks, too.

Cindy lives here in NW Illinois in farm country..they are not farmers but the land all around them is either corn or soybeans. And..about this time every year it happens.  Always.  Every year.  BUGS.  Box Elder bugs, Asian Beetle bugs, bug bug bug…

I have become quite good at vacuuming the suckers but they still buzz us..they don’t bite or whatever, but this city girl is still kinda creeped out!  Yesterday I decided to name them..Squishy, Stinky, Squidgy, Skeet, Stinky, Stupid, Squiggy, etc..I figure we all have to live together in this farmy place!

Here they are out on the house..somehow they get in, not a lot but enough to BUG me, lol..

Heading for home this next Tuesday the 12th..So miss my hubs and dogs…three weeks sounded good when I left home, but its a long time…Dogpaw Carl has handled the the home front well, but we miss each other..Absence DOES make the heart grow fonder♥

Here are a few pictures of my trip so far..

  1. OH MUH GOSH! Pink eared dog!!!! Cute alert!! Find out the dye recipe...I think Molly's stub tail needs a dye job next Easter!

I thought Oklahoma had the most bugs. You need to come to visit and see if you have the same number or more hit the car while driving at night. Sounds like a rain shower...seriously!!

  5. Can I just say Ewwww to the bugs!
But enjoyed the rest of your pictures. Cute dogs...bet they made you feel right at home.
Beautiful scenery pics. Did I tell you that I was born in IL.
I'm sure you and Sis are having a great time. When you go that far, you have to stay awhile.
How many aprons did you make?

  6. I am so glad you are having a great visit with Sissy, despite the bugs! Love the pictures of the puppies and kitties. Love the pink ears! that is simply awesome. I agree with you on the bugs. Yuck. I, too, am a city girl who doesn't handle the bugs life very well either. Fortunately, here it is getting to cold for the suckers. Not so great on the cold, but hey, no bugs! Have a great rest of your trip!

  9. I have to admit I love the dog with pink ears.

The bugs - not so much.

I'm glad you are having a good time - but there's no place like home.

  10. Wow, that is a lot of bugs! We get hundreds of those Asian beetles that come in house house through the windows every year. Like you said, they aren't harmful, but terribly annoying.

The scenery where you were visiting seems very peaceful, so I hope that helped in you enjoying your stay! I know what you mean about traveling. Usually by the first night, I am aching to be home.
