I decided this week to join Angela at WV Treasures and participate in Show and Tail, a fairly new weekly meme.. Lord knows I have enough four leggers here to chat about for a long, long time!
Starting off, let me introduce you to Gracie. Gracie is our 7 year old Dalmatian. I grew up with Dalmatians, they truly are not for the faint of heart..I never understood why they never put a disclaimer on the 101 Dalmatian movies..”Not for the faint of heart”. These are big, strong dogs, could easily knock over a 20 year old, much less little kids..Many of them, including our Gracie, are quirky and alpha..Definitely not a good dog for a house of little ones, but fine for us old folks..She may be a goofball, but she is our goofball!
Next, let me introduce you to sweet India. India is a lab mix, she belonged to our oldest son, Dan, and ended up with us. She is a little over 8 years old and is the little mama of the group..always has a stuffed ‘baby’ in her mouth and will go get one out of the box if asked. India is afraid of the wind..and of course we live in a wind tunnel. for a few years we tried to medicate her, now we just try to help her through it..turn on music or the TV..anything to mask the sound of the Wind.
Lastly, but not least, is Halo, our little man. Halo is a shorthaired dachshund and is 8 years old..Halo originally belonged to our younger son’s ex girlfriend and as a pup spent a lot of time at our house..they split up and we lose the dog, lol…well she called me 4 years ago and asked if we could take him, she just could not care for him any longer. We jumped in the car and home he came with us and we have not looked back. He is my lap dog and he loves to ride in the car. Last winter we took a car trip to IL to visit my sis and Halo went with us. He loved hotel rooms and thought he was the king I tell ya..and stubborn! OH MY. When I go away or we both go away, when we get home he gives us what I call the STINK EYE. he acts happy to see us, but then it starts..he is just so mad..takes him a couple days to come around and all is forgiven..what stubbornness but we love it.
Well, that’s it for this week..these dogs live the life, I tell ya!

Barb, your babies are precious! I loved hearing about them. They must keep you busy. That's so sweet little Halo likes to travel. Our little Sophie who is now 15 has never liked to travel. Her idea of travel is going from the couch to the bed! LOL Thanks for sharing such a sweet post.

Hi Barb! Loved meeting all your furbabies!.. and especially loved how goodbye didn't mean forever with Halo!.. Wishing you ALL a wonderful day! ~tina
ReplyDeleteThey are all so cute! And sounds like they all have their own personalities. I do remember hearing that after 101 Dalmatians came out that a lot of people were getting one for their and quickly found out that they couldn't handle them. She sure is a pretty one!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having a dog scared of the wind! lol I'm sure the month of March is a fun month for you! hehehe
