Show Us Your Roosters!

Welcome to the Second Annual ‘Show Us Your Roosters’ Blog Party hosted by Barb at Bella Vista.  There are so many bloggers who love roosters like I do, who knew?!  Anyway, some of my roosters are still boxed up, but here are a few of what I have.  I need to think of why I love roosters..Is it because they are so country?  Maybe because they make a house seem like a home.  Not sure but I know that I keep on collecting and enjoying, and I hope you enjoy looking at mine!

I received these awesome eat everything in them bowls from my fab sister Cindy who lives in Illinois and knows how much I love roosters..She has a blog also at CarneyFarm.  This pattern is from Pfaltzgraff and is called Daybreak.

IMG_3133 Ditto!

I ‘retrieved’ these awesome vintage rooster salt and pepper shakers from my mother in law’s home many moons ago..She was happy to have me add to my collection..She passed away 4 years ago and I think of her when I see these..

How about this handsome fella..this is my very FIRST rooster, give to us by my Mom…He graced the hearth by the fireplace in our then home and has a place of honor in my kitchen up where he can watch over us…

I can honestly say I don’t remember where or when I picked up this mamma chicken (ok so not a rooster lol) and her brood..but I enjoy them just the same!

Ok this precious one I L.O.V.E.  I picked this up at the Home Goods store while shopping with my daughter in love this past spring.  Had to have it..I think I put a couple other things in the cart back when I saw this..It had to come home with ME.

Another couple of cuties, and again not sure how they ended up with me!  Just happy they did!
IMG_3150
I picked up this old pitcher in a Palm Springs thrift store about 3 months ago..It’s very Italian..it says Fontana Di Trevi..so cute!  and I think it was like under $5.

Here is the flip side, isn’t it gorgeous?!
IMG_3154

I have had these plates for a few years, they came as a set..they are not really big, about 4 inches in diameter..they fit nicely in that space everyone has in their kitchen that nothing else fits in!
IMG_3155
I’ve had this rooster tin for a long time, again no idea where it came from or from who..
IMG_3165
I have had this clock about 8 year, I purchased it at a Home Interiors party..Does anyone remember Home Interiors?  They had nice things and not too pricey..
IMG_3171
Our mantel…I love the B for Boyack, or Barbara..the rooster is fairly new and my sweet daughter in love hand painted the wine glass at Christmas, it says Aged to Perfection!  Woot!  That would be me!
IMG_3172 This is the whole mantel area..Just wanted to put it in here..this is a very old family picture from 2004..Younger son on the right married last year, need to update soon!
Thanks for stopping by…what fun for me to get to look at my rooster collection and think about each one and what they mean to me!
Now, check out the other party participants..I know a lot of these gals, and there is going to be some really divine roosters!

  5. You have some really nice roosters. It reminds me of the my Aunt's mother-in-law she collected roosters and chickens. When asked about her decorating style my Aunt always said her tastes where Early American Chicken.
