To Have and To Hold..a Wedding Post..

Stephanie at Angelic Accents loves weddings.  Her anniversary is in June, and June is the ‘traditional’ month for weddings in the United States.  To celebrate all this goodness, Stephanie is hosting a blog party TODAY!  Click on her link, Angelic Accents and head over and join the party!  A good time is guaranteed for all!

To celebrate weddings, I thought I would post some pictures from mine.  My husband Carl and I were married on April 2, 1977.  No June wedding for me!  Somehow we got the wedding planned and organized in a short 5 months.  Our son Scott was married last April 4, 2009 to the beautiful Melainie and I never realized HOW much work was involved, they were engaged for almost 18 months.  Times have changed, that’s for sure!  I thought it would be fun to show some side by side pictures of similar shots, some 32 years apart to show how much things have changed, and probably have a good laugh, too..

  2. I love the tradition, that no matter how many years apart - the poses are almost the same! How sweet. My favourite of yours is the one from the back of the car, it's a classic!

  8. Love the thought and time you took in presenting the THEN and NOW comparisons of weddings! Your wedding and mine was very similar. Even the church pews look identical! I wore a similar bridesmaid's gown in my friend's wedding with the sheer butterfly overlay, only mine was in peach. You were such a beautiful bride and I so love your headress and veil and gown. Your hubby had as wicked a moustache as mine did lambchop sideburns ~ they had it goin' on, didn't they?!? :0)

Your cake was stunning! Your son and his lovely bride look gorgeous and so very happy, too. My favorite pic is the one of you two from inside the car!

Thanks so much for joining in the WEDDING BLOG PARTY! It is such fun seeing what everyone is sharing!

    Big Hugs,

  16. I love how you did the "then and now" to show how styles have changed AND boy have they changed! I was married in 1971, so mine are similar to yours.

Those background shots in your son's wedding photos are stunning! I swear if I ever get married again it will be as the sunsets on the beach — just for the photos!
